BMS World Mission

Mid-term volunteers - 2 to 4 years

Two to four years overseas with three months of training before you go.

If you want to invest a longer period of time experiencing the exhilarating nature of mission then the mid-term option, BMS' fastest growing programme, provides the opportunity. We are looking for people who will commit to at least two years abroad to really engage with the people and the culture. Mid-term workers take on strategic roles for our overseas partners which they are professionally equipped to fulfil.

  • Applications accepted at any point in the year
  • Up to three months residential training in UK provided without charge
  • BMS pays expenses but not an allowance

One Potato, Two Potato - Kay Newton

"It's the exhilarating nature of stepping out in faith and watching God provide that has been so encouraging.  Our lives are vastly different to what they used to be when we were in England.

"I am working with the PEPE project in South America. Its essence is to motivate the local church to reach out to pre-school children within the poor communities. Equipment is always very basic. Their classrooms are usually the local church (one room) and, as I witnessed they can be filled with not only children, but chickens, stray dogs, fleas, poisonous spiders and, on one occasion, even wandering sheep! I have been involved with several training sessions with the PEPE teachers, and time and time again I have been struck by the dedication of the teachers. One teacher travelled four hours in the back of a truck and then walked for two hours in the rain in order to get to the training
